The Oscars

I won't be able to watch the X-Men movies again without picturing Hugh Jackman doing bad Musical Theatre.  And that, for me is an improvement! Especially for the third one.  Oooh. The Wolverine Origins movie is coming out and Gambit is in one scene!  Steve Martin presented just now and he was funny!! everyone else's oscar lines are stiff and uncomfortable. He says his lines and there is life, and fun!
thw love,
Jonathan

ps. Eli bought clay. We've been making sculptures.  It's fun. Everyone should get clay. Everyone should have fun.

Unemployed and Bored

Not sure if anyone actually reads this at all, but I came across a quote today while reading and thought it merited a post for thehappyworkers.

"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward." -Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

Vonnegut is, and always has been, one of my favorite authors, if not my favorite. If you don't know him or are unfamiliar with him, go pick up SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE, then read HOCUS POCUS or BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS and tell me you aren't in love with Vonnegut.

Anyway, diatribe aside, I thought this quote was fitting for us since I'm not quite sure how many people know how The Happy Workers began. Jonathan, Eli, Chris and I all worked at the same place and were all equally miserable with said job. With a little oompf, a dozen meetings or so and a few cinematic purchases, we took our frustration and turned it into what is now The Happy Workers. I can't speak for all of them but I know being a part of this group and making people, myself included, laugh, I have made it through some bad times these past few years. And I think with the current state of our economy everyone is feeling a little overworked, underpaid and all-around stressed. If that's you, and I'm hoping it isn't, here's what I think you should do: LAUGH. Do whatever you can to laugh and find ways to laugh. You never know what might come out of it. And hey, maybe we can help. ;)

Til then, I wish you all nothing but the best!

Website Damage and free form-ness

Ok, so. Sorry! Our video page was down for a week or so while Kyle made a few adjustments. I know the internet world has the patience of a mayfly but maybe, just maybe, a few of you are still with us.

right?

hello? (hello hello hello)

yeah, the parenthetical was supposed to emulate echoes...

Shut up! I'm just free-form writing here. No scripts or nothing so cut me some &^%$#^&%$ slack!!

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you like that. I'm just upset that our website was down for a while and I'm afraid you all left us and I'm just sitting here all by myself writing run-on sentences to no one but the one cat Chris hasn't shot yet but probably will soon in a different sketch cause he always likes to shoot things for a laugh.

so yeah. the website is back and fully functional. We even added cool links to our other lamer pages (facebook, myspace, deadbabies.com). So keep on checking our stuff out. We're gonna be posting lots in the months to come to help everyone make it through this tough economy.

i love you.

Ugh...Finally

Ok, so we took a lot longer than we expected, and wayyyyyyyyy longer than you all expected. For that, I am sorry. There were a few ideas that changed in the planning of season 2 and a few dynamic changes within the group itself.

That being said, we are happy to finally be launching Season 2, our new and improved Happy Workers experience. I know I have poured my heart and soul into all this and so have the other Happy Workers. I hope you all are pleased with the final product and continue to support us as we continue on. Thank you guys so much for your support these past 10 months as we trudged through preparation for Season 2 (and yes, I'm counting all the emails that said "where are you guys? what happened?") I, myself, apologize for the delay and hope you understand now what our holdup was. I wish you all the best and can't wait to hear all your feedback!

Welcome to Season 2!

Countdown

Hello Kids, this is your Uncle Drew here and man is he pumped.

Seriously, I am. Kyle, our genius web designer, has begun the final polishing of thehappyworkers.com and it should be up and running before you all get burned out on playing GTA4. Ok, that was a video game joke. Shut up.

But yes, you can all relax because thehappyworkers.com will be up soon and so will Season 2!

Are you ready? I know I am...
